I never ever thought I would be a weight loss coach. I’ve actually avoided the topic of weight loss throughout my 20+ years of being a dietitian and nutritionist.
One reason is that I didn’t really know how to tell people to lose weight. “Calories in calories out” was what I was always taught (and honestly, that method is just miserable.)
Plus, the idea of “calories in calories out” is outdated and simply inaccurate. Your weight has so much to do with your hormones and the strength of your metabolism than it does with calories.
Another reason I avoided the topic of weight loss was because I didn’t want women losing weight at the expense of their health, which often seems to be the case, right?
So as a nutrition coach, I’ve always prioritized overall health and wellness, nourishing your body, replenishing your minerals, and simply feeling better.
Well, after 20 years of avoiding the topic of weight loss, I had my own experience with weight gain that completely changed my perspective. After a traumatic injury my oldest son went through that affected him and our family for several months, I managed to put on 15 pounds.
I had also recently hit my 40s, and while I don’t know for sure if that contributed to my weight gain, I’m guessing it didn’t help. I outgrew all of my pants. I found myself irritated often because my clothes were so uncomfortable. I noticed I was getting winded easier when I would go for a walk or a hike.
Those 15 pounds were interfering with my daily life, physically and mentally.
So, I decided to combine everything I knew about metabolism and body types and hormone balance…and I signed myself up as my own client! I put myself on a weight loss “program” of sorts.
Guess what happened? (I was shocked.) After just one month, I’d lost 8 pounds. I was excited to say the least, and I kept going. After about 3 months, I had dropped all of the weight I gained plus a little extra.
I lost over 15 lbs in 3 months.
Now, I’d known for several years that the issue of weight loss was becoming more and more relevant among women my age. While I tried to avoid it, I realized almost every client and student I was working with was asking me how to lose weight. A few of my clients lost some weight just by eating for their body type, but this didn’t happen across the board.
Needless to say, once I had my own experience with weight gain and then managed to melt it off easily in a short time, I went to work.
I began translating the principles and methods I’d used into an easy-to-understand, easy-to-follow program that could work for all women, regardless of their situation or age or body type.
And that brings us to today. RESHAPE is the end result of my decades of research + personal experience + the input and testimonies of the women who did a “trial run” of the program with me.
The truth is that RESHAPE not only reshapes your physical body, it also reshapes your mindset and transforms your health at the deepest cellular level.
RESHAPE keeps you slim, happy, and well nourished, all at the same time.
No gimmicks, no green smoothies or expensive shakes, and no feeling hungry. Just nourishing your body in a way that aligns with your ancestral DNA. When you understand how to do this, everything else falls into place.
And, I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way!
Blessings,
💛 Abby
